After reading a story or informational text on a 6th grade level the student will write a 3 paragraph essay summarizing the information

Student will answer inferential and open ended questions relating to the text

While reading a story or informational text on a 6th grade level the students will draw an inference/conclusion from information in the story

While reading a story or informational text on a 5th grade level the student will participate in a discussion relating to the story and share opinions and ideas.

After reading books on a 6th grade level the students will compare and contrast the Author’s purpose in each story
